<mods:abstract>Societies are transitioning towards new models where sustainability is the guiding vector. Bioeconomy has become an essential tool in this transition, allowing the substitution of fossil-based resources or traditional polluting processes with more nature-based products or solutions. But, to do this, entrepreneurship and innovation are needed. Nevertheless, for certain sectors like the forestry industry or forestry bioeconomy, in which complexity is a limiting factor, we need to clarify the different ingredients of this complexity to develop entrepreneurship, or even entrepreneurial ecosystems that could help to increase innovative products. This paper provides a comprehensive view of the different political factors that are limiting or pushing the development of entrepreneurship and innovation related to the forestry bioeconomy.</mods:abstract>
