Dada la realidad cambiante que transforma constantemente el rol docente, conocer las motivaciones y expectativas de los y las futuras docentes de esta etapa educativa ayudará a ofrecerles una formación inicial coherente y continua que asegure la calidad educativa. Se trata de un estudio cuantitativo y cualitativo en el que han participado 76 estudiantes (60,5 % mujeres; 39,5 % hombres; Medad = 31,6 años, DT = 9,00) del Máster Universitario en Profesorado de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y Bachillerato, Formación Profesional y Enseñanzas de Idiomas de Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Mediante la cumplimentación de la escala Motivational Factor Influencing Teaching as a Career Choice (FIT-Choice) y de preguntas abiertas reflexivas se han identificado tres Identidades Profesionales Docentes motivacionales en el futuro profesorado de secundaria: desvinculada, instrumental y sociocomunitaria. Las voces de estos alumnos y alumnas destacaron la inclusión, la atención a la diversidad y la necesidad de cambios educativos. En el perfil docente, enfatizaron el rol docente acompañante y motivador, enfocándose más en las características profesionales que en las personales que debe poseer. Estos resultados se discuten, así como sus implicaciones prácticas como punto de reflexión en las futuras mejoras del Máster de Secundaria. The aim of this paper is to identify the profile of future secondary school teachers, exploring their motivations towards the profession and the ideas and perceptions they have at the beginning of their teacher training. Given the changing reality that is constantly transforming the role of the teacher, knowing the motivations and expectations of future teachers at this stage of their education will help to offer them coherentand continuous initial training that ensures educational quality. This is a quantitative and qualitative study in which 76 students (60,5 % female; 39,5 % male; Mage = 31,6 years, SD = 9,00) of the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching of the Mondragon Unibertsitatea participated. Through the completion of the Motivational Factor Influencing Teaching as a Career Choice scale (FIT-Choice) and reflective open-ended questions, three motivational professional teaching identities were identified in the future secondary school teachers: deprived, instrumental and socio-community. In their voices, these students emphasized inclusion, attention to diversity, and the need for educational change. In the teacher profile, they emphasized the role of accompanying and motivating teacher, focusing more on the professional characteristics than on the personal characteristics that they should have.
